History of the kingdom
Palupi area was formerly a small kingdom that was part of the Kingdom of Tatanga; the periode of their own madika (king) lasted for 104 years, from 1609 – 1713.
The king was called Baligau and and the kingdom lasted 46 years after the Bongaya agreement (1667) between the Dutch (VOC) and the Kingdom of Gowa in 1713.
